Convoy of Hope

Convoy of Hope came to Mountain Home

Even though there was a location change, and frigid temperatures and wind straight out of the Wizard of Oz, there were some 2,250+ persons touched by the hands of some 600+/- volunteers with things for all ages to do: hot lunch, groceries, haircuts and hygiene products, health screenings, 47 different community services, kid zone, etc, all of which was free to the public. There were many people helped with this convoy. Personally, I was at the exit checking that all persons got to see and do everything that they wanted to do. It was a blessing for those we came to serve to come by and tell us just how much it meant for us to give of ourselves so they could enjoy the event. Each participant left with two sacks of groceries in their hand as well. Convoy of Hope supplied and brought $50,000 worth of groceries for distribution.

I personally experienced something that we in modern America, don't get to see very often. We collectively as a group of 18+ Churches in the Twin Lakes Area from many differant denominations, put aside our petty belief differances and came together in one thing that we can all agree upon and support what was happening in Mountain Home on April 12th, 2008! It was an historical event that I personally was thrilled to be apart of and will feel a bit cheated if it does not continue. How often today do you see all Christians work together for one cause and put aside all other agendas and allow themselves to serve others side by side, that others outside of their congregations and then to invite those same people to be a part of a church of their choice.
